The game is on and so is the art Image: Instagram/ Upamanyu Bhattacharyya
"25 din mein Mumbai khatam." Umm, we guess there's a lot of time left for that, we got way too many seasons to see before Day 25 arrives. But tripping on Nawauddin Siddiqui-Saif Ali Khan-Radhika Apte starrer Sacred Games is still on. Everyone will remember July 6 and how we got introduced to the gore and hard-hitting drama that is addictive as hell.
Plus, the show has gifted us cackle-worthy memes and jokes, which are still raging, BTW. Netizens have also hailed the series based on Vikram Chandra's work as our Game of Thrones – which isn't entirely false.
In search of all things Sacred Games, we chanced upon character art of the show's leads, which is too damn brilliant. And it's done by Kolkata's 24-year-old animation filmmaker and illustrator Upamanyu Bhattacharyya who is a fan, too. He says, "The illustrations came about since I was watching the show and I found it to be the best way to engage with those interesting characters: by giving them a small take of my own."
From Gaitonde to Parulkar to Katekar, he's illustrated them all. Have a dekko!
