After their share of high-voltage sporting action, both Argentina legend Lionel Messi and tennis world No. 1 Rafael Nadal decided to spend some time in Ibiza, an island in the east coast of Spain, well-known for its lively nightlife, yoga retreats and chilled-out beaches.
The news of Messi bumping into Rafa went viral soon after a fan spotted them on the Mediterranean island and immediately took to Twitter to express his excitement.
According to a report on express.co.uk, both Messi and Rafa had dinner "at an exclusive restaurant" in Ibiza.
Messi ended a disappointing campaign with Argentina in the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia, where La Albiceleste’s run ended in the Round of 16, after 3-4 loss to France, who eventually clinched the trophy.
And after winning his 11th French Open title, Nadal lost to Novak Djokovic in the semi-final of the Wimbledon. Djokovic eventually went on to clinch his fourth Wimbledon title after beating South Africa's Kevin Anderson.
