Showbiz czarina Ekta Kapoor recently did the unthinkable. She just unveiled the teaser of her upcoming TV show, Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, a reboot of the hit 2001 tele-saga of the same name. And small screen buffs, instead of feeling excited about it, got the heebie-jeebies. Why, you ask? Millennials, especially those hooked to the current finite series genre, aren't ready to go through the torturous 2000s that had ushered in the never-ending trend of remarriages, countless children, grandchildren and multiple time-leaps on the small screen. We feel you, guys.
With all honest intentions, Ekta kept the sets, costumes and the promo song the same, obviously tapping into the nostalgia attached to it. But that wasn't of any help.
"Feeling excited to bring back the epic saga of love #KasautiiZindagiiKay, Coming Soon only on @StarPlus. @BTL_Balaji @ChloeJFerns," she wrote while posting the promo on Twitter.
The moment she launched the teaser on social media, her tweet was greeted with some terrified reactions. Take a look:
In the original Kasautii Zindagii Kay, the story revolved around the lead couple Anurag (Cezanne Khan) and Prerna (Shweta Tiwari). This time around, the lead characters will be played by Parth Samthaan and Erica Fernandes.
