Orange Is the New Black showrunner Jenji Kohan has hinted that the seventh season of the Netflix series could very well be its last.
Kohan, who is the show's executive producer, said she has an ending in mind, which she "will not share".
"I haven't made a final decision yet, but I'm leaning toward ending it after seven — although the nature of the show is one that can go on and on because you can bring in new people. I think I do (have an ending). And I will not share it," she told The New York Times ahead of Season 6's debut.
The comedy-drama is returning with its sixth season on July 27, and will see the series become more of an ensemble piece. Though Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) still remains the main lead, considering the show is based on Piper Kerman's memoir Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison.
Back in February 2016, Netflix renewed the hit prison drama for three seasons, taking it through to Season 7.
The trailer of the sixth season had thrown Netizens into a tizzy as it didn't have Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), Piper's fellow inmate and ex-girlfriend. While the makers of the hit series have not spilled the beans, the sixth season certainly has a surprise up its sleeves.
