Breaking away from the monotonous trend of releasing one smartphone after the other, the famed Chinese phone maker of the Mi brand—Xiaomi—has now launched a drone.
Billed as Mi Drone, Xiaomi’s latest offering comes with a 4-propeller system with detachable shield, a 5100 mAh battery and a 104-degree wide-angle camera lens capable of recording 4K or 1080P videos and even still images with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
The camera supports RAW format images and it can also record 720P live video with low latency from a distance of 2 km.
Mi Drone also comes with the essential GPS, Glonass and vision-based positioning system for maximum precision. The integrated Autopilot option in Mi Drone will let you make the drone take-off and land along with waypoint flight path planning, tap to fly on map and circle an object on the ground.
The drone comes with a modular design and available in two variants—the 1080P camera edition for RMB 2,499 (Rs 25,650 approx) and the 4K edition for RMB 2,999 (Rs 30,800 approx).
Right now, the Mi Drone is available in China only. But Xiaomi is about to announce when the quadcopter will fly into India.
