Microsoft India on Tuesday officially launched the Xbox One X in India at a media event in New Delhi. The device will retail for Rs 44,900 and will be available to buy through Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Landmark, and Microsoft India stores.
The gaming console will also be available to buy through speciality games and toys store across the country. At the time of writing this article, the One X has been listed for pre-order only on Flipkart but is expected to be made available on other sources soon.
The X variant is a beefed up version of the original Xbox One and last year’s redesigned Xbox One S and supports 4K, HDR, and smoother frame rates compared to its predecessors. The model is expected to retail for Rs 44,900 in India.
The Xbox One X Microsoft's most powerful console till date and is powered by eight-core custom AMD CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, 12GB of GDDR5 VRAM and a 6 Teraflop GPU, which offers smoother animations in 4K. There's 1TB of internal storage and the console uses a liquid-cooled vapour-chamber cooling technology. It's also advertised as the smallest Xbox ever.
The console also has a compatibility mode and is backwards compatible with many Xbox 360 games.
The Xbox One X was previously teased with a January 15 release date in India on Xbox's official India website, which turned out to be false. The company later confirmed that it was a mistake on Microsoft India's part which led to the misinformation being put up on the official website.
