WhatsApp users will soon be able to make group video calls and use stickers during chat. The group video call feature was confirmed by owners Facebook at the F8 Developer Conference in San Jose, California, on Monday.

One-on-one video and voice calls are already possible on WhatsApp, but the new extension will let multiple users connect to the same video call via the app. It's still not clear if there's a cap on the number of participants, but as per the images showed during the presentation, four people should be able to connect simultaneously.

The feature has been in the pipeline for some time now, and reports started coming in since February this year. Facebook has also rolled out the feature for its image-sharing platform Instagram. As for WhatsApp, the update is expected to go live in the coming weeks, but exact dates haven't been released yet.

Another feature coming to the world's largest messenger app will be stickers. The feature is already available on Facebook's native Messenger app that allows users to post animated stickers during chats.
