The Vivo X21 with in-display fingerprint sensor is set for its official launch in India on Tuesday, May 29, but the Chinese smartphone maker has already started taking pre-orders for the Android smartphone through its official online store.
Vivo is yet to divulge any information on the possible pricing of the device but interested buyers can pre-book their handset by paying Rs 2,000 on Vivo's site. In turn, users will get a Rs 2,000 coupon, which they can use while purchasing the device once it launches. The pre-booking comes with a five per cent cashback for customers using SBI credit cards. Buyers will also get Rs 1,000 gift vouchers from Fern N Petals and the option for 12-month no-cost EMI. Vodafone Red subscribers opting for the offer will get 280GB of additional data.
The Vivo X21 will go on sale in India via e-commerce website Flipkart.
The X21 sports a 6.28-inch FullHD+ SuperAMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 1080x2280 resolution. The display has an in-display fingerprint scanner embedded into the touchscreen. The screen has a top notch to house the front camera and other sensors.
The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and an Adreno 512 GPU. The device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card slot.
On the camera front, there's a 12MP+5MP dual camera setup on the back. The front camera sports a 12MP camera sensor capable of advanced features like 3D mapping, Face Wake facial recognition, and IR fill light.
The device supports dual-SIM (nano) and will run Vivo's own FunTouch OS 4.0 skin on an Android 8.1 Oreo-based ROM. The X21 also packs a 3200mAh battery.
The Vivo X21 was first launched in China back in March and the company has just recently started to roll it out in other regions. The device is expected to be priced around Rs 37,000 on launch. Vivo recently announced the Vivo X21 FIFA World Cup 2018 Extraordinaire Edition but it's unclear if it will be launched in India tomorrow.
