Microsoft reportedly abandoned the Surface Phone project Image: Twitter
Microsoft is reportedly ready to give up on the Surface Phone, but tech enthusiasts around the world are certainly not. Users around the globe have started a petition urging Microsoft to make the device a reality.
Recently, a number of rumours and leaks surrounding Microsoft's foldable phone, which can also double as a tablet, had many excited. But a recent report claiming the tech giant has already abandoned the project, also dubbed Andromeda, pretty much hosed down all expectations.
A person named Zachary Hinski decided to start a petition on Change.org to make Microsoft reconsider its decision and claimed that he was ready to pay $799-999 (Rs 55,000-69,000) for the device if it looked anything like its leaked photos. He also added he'd be willing to shell out even more if the device was truly groundbreaking. Hinski's petition has already gathered around 10,000 supporters on the website.
Here are some of the leaked images of the rumoured Surface Phone. The images are not official, so do take them with a pinch of salt.

Microsoft's Surface line of 2-in-1 tablets and notebooks is one of the premium offerings in the market. If Microsoft decides to go ahead with the Surface Phone launch, it will mark the tech giant's re-entry into the smartphone space after pulling the plug on Windows Phones last year.
