Udit Agarwal is a rare gamer. He is confined to his bed and breathing through a ventilator. He can only use his fingers, toes and voice to control a computer. But that hasn't stopped him from playing games and winning.

Udit was diagnosed with a rare disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy when he was only four. It is a non-curable disease that affects progress. It results in muscle degeneration, making the person slow and completely immobile eventually.

But the 31-year-old Udit won't let a disease kill his gaming spirit. He has finished playing over 100 games, including Watch Dogs, Call of Duty, Far Cry 2 and Need for Speed Most Wanted. He has played online games like Hearthstone as well. Udit keeps away from online fighting games, though, as he knows he can't move as fast as his rivals. He has difficulties playing in winter, as his hands and feet get cold and stiff.

Udit, who lists actor Christopher Reeve and physicist Stephen Hawking as his biggest inspirations, says his biggest hurdle is “making the voice commands app understand me”. He adds, “I have difficulty making fast movements, having to adjust the feet mouse often and difficulty aiming quickly.”

With a mouse in hand and two more tied to his feet, Udit once spent 13 hours playing WWE Smackdown vs Raw and finished the game at one go.

He says “the hope of getting cured, the fear of death and the will to have fun” keeps him motivated.

So, what does he do to have fun, besides playing games. Well, just like any of us, he loves eating, watching films and TV, and listening to music. So we got him to list some of his favourite things for us.
