Tinder just added a major feature, and it's gonna take you back to high school. A new premier tier paid feature called Tinder Gold allows users to see who has liked them, and swiped right. Remember that time you promised your BFF you'd do his/ her homework for an entire week, if they told you if your crush likes you back? This is just like that, only there's real money involved. Like, quite a lot of money.
Today Tinder is the top grossing app in the world — I told you subscriptions might be a thing one day🔥🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/YGWJ30SKJo— Norgard (@BrianNorgard) August 30, 2017
For the first time ever, Tinder is at the No. 1 spot on the iOS store, and is officially the highest grossing app right now, after the introduction of Tinder Gold. The feature, which is an upgrade on Tinder Plus, is already making major waves. Tinder Gold introduces a feature called 'Likes You', which does exactly what you think. Tells you who likes you on the swipe-based dating app and who swiped right. Whereas Tinder Plus lets users rewind (undo a swipe, which is honestly a life-saver) and also lets you use the super like feature (which lets you tell someone that you're super interested in them. Like, really interested) five times a day. Can you really be super-duper interested in more than five people in one day? Also, are there really so many interesting people on Tinder?
Only Tinder Plus users can upgrade to Tinder Gold. Tinder Plus costs $9.99 a month, and users can upgrade to Tinder Gold for an extra $4.99 a month, plus subscription. Okay, we'll just say it, that is a lot of money just for some information. So, some random dude from a local band likes you. Big deal. Tinder CPO Brian Norgard took to Twitter to low-key brag about all the money Tinder is making off insecure millennials. So, umm... good job?
