Saudi Arabia has reportedly decided to ban 47 video games after allegations surfaced that two children killed themselves after being encouraged to do so in an online game.

According to the Associated Press, Saudi General Commission for Audio-Visual Media said it is banning 47 games, including the Grand Theft Auto V by Rockstar games and Assassins Creed 2 by Ubisoft.

The ban comes after two kids, a 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, reportedly killed themselves after playing the Blue Whale game, which is already banned in many countries, as it has taken more than 130 lives worldwide. But Blue Whale is not a game, it is a series of challenges that forces the player to perform dangerous tasks, and eventually kill themselves.

It is not clear, however, how and why the Saudi Arabian government is mixing or connecting mainstream video games to this disturbing social media challenge. A few days ago, Valve, too, removed the controversial game Active shooter, which demanded that the player terrorises kids and civilians by attempting to kill them in a school.

Here's the complete list of games that have faced the axe from the Saudi General Commission for Audio-Visual Media:
