Samsung may have confirmed that the company is looking to come out with foldable OLED smartphones in 2018. The South Korean tech giant was rumoured to have been working on smartphones with foldable OLED displays, dubbed Samsung Galaxy X, for some time now.

The revelation came about on Wednesday after the company produced its fourth quarter and FY 2017 results in South Korea. During the announcement, the company also gave an overview of its product roadmap for the coming year.

"As for the Mobile business, Samsung will continue its efforts to differentiate its smartphones by adopting cutting-edge technologies, such as foldable OLED displays," read the report. There was an even clearer indication during its earnings call on Wednesday, which claimed 'the cutting edge differentiation of foldable OLED smartphones' would happen in 2018.

The report also mentions the company is betting big on the Samsung Galaxy S9 flagship to be launched at the Samsung Unpacked event on February 25, leading up to the MWC 2018. The camera and Bixby assistant will be the focus in the S9.
