OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 6 Red Edition in India priced at Rs 39,999. The device is basically a red-coloured variant of the OnePlus 6 flagship phone with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The variant will go on sale in the country starting July 16 through the official OnePlus website and OnePlus's e-commerce partner Amazon.

The Red Edition has a bright metallic red glass back highlighted by a mirror-like fingerprint sensor with a slightly darker red hue. The company claims the design involves optical coating, evaporative film and six panels of glass. According to OnePlus, the technique has never been used to design smartphones before, and it allows light to enter into the deepest layer before reflecting out, which brings out the vibrant colour even more.

To recall, the OnePlus 6 was launched back in May in Midnight Black and Mirror Black colour options. The Marvel Avengers Special Edition, with a black carbon fibre textured back, followed later in the same month. The Silk White variant was unveiled earlier this month.

Other than the colour, the specifications of the Red Edition is exactly the same as the other variants.
