After months of speculation, OnePlus has officially confirmed that their next flagship will indeed be called the OnePlus 6 and also confirmed the availability of an 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model. Recent reports also suggest that the Chinese smartphone giant may bring the release of the device forward and the OnePlus 6 may launch in April and not June, as previously speculated.
OnePlus, on Monday, released the first official teaser for the upcoming device and also released a poster to announce the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The device is also expected to launch in 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB variants.
The teaser video bears the caption '6et ready' and focuses on 'speed' hinting towards premium hardware. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has already officially confirmed that the smartphone will come with an Apple iPhone X-like top notch and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Soc. Recently, a leaked Antutu benchmark of the device, believed to be the OnePlus 6, also showed it scored higher than the S9 benchmarks, suggesting better optimisation.

According to various past leaks, the OnePlus 6 is expected to house a 6.28-inch bezelless display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, which is taller than regular flagships. The device will come with a top notch and will have a screen-to-body ratio of more than 90 per cent.
The device may come with a 12MP + 20MP vertically-positioned dual camera setup on the back. Leaked images also show a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, which may rule out the possibility of an under-the-screen fingerprint sensor. The phone will also come with Dash Charging and Qi Wireless charging possibilities. The smartphone will run Android 8.1 Oreo and may pack a 3,450mAh battery. Tipster Evan Blass also recently revealed that the OnePlus 6 may have a black woodgrain finish version.
An earlier leak on Chinese social media website Weibo suggested that the 8GB/256GB option of the device may be priced around $749 or Rs 48,000 approx.
However, latest leaks from Gizmochina cited a 'reliable source' who claimed that the base 64GB variant of the OnePlus 6 will be listed for 3299 Yuan ($523 or Rs 34,500 approx), the 128GB version will be priced around 3799 Yuan ($602 or Rs 40,000 approx) while the 256GB variant will cost 4399 Yuan ($697 or Rs 46,000). According to previous reports, the 64GB and 128GB storage variants are expected to be accompanied by 6GB RAM but the 256GB model will pack 8GB of RAM — something which the latest poster confirms.
OnePlus beginning to market the device now may be indicative at an imminent launch and falls in line with recent reports that the company might be pushing the launch forward to April. It was previously slated for a June release date.
