Nokia has already updated two of its older releases in 2018 in the form of Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 Plus, and it seems like even the Nokia 5 may be up for a refresh this year. To recall, the mid-budget Nokia 5 was first launched in February last year.

There have been no leaks or rumours about the Nokia 5 (2018) so far. But when a Twitter user decided to ask HMD Global CFO Juho Sarvikas about the possibility of a 2018 rendition of the mid-budget Nokia 5, Sarvikas surprisingly replied to the user and wrote, "stay tuned."

HMD Global is the company which owns the Nokia brand name.

The original Nokia 5 had a 5.2-inch HD display with a 720 x 1280 resolution and was powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage expandable via a micro SD.

The device sported a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The original Nokia 5 came with an aluminium body and 3,000mAh battery.

Going by Nokia's trend, expect the Nokia 5 (2018) to be priced around Rs 10,000 and run an Android One-based ROM.
