Smartphone giant Samsung has started selling a limited edition Sunrise Gold colour variant of its flagship model — the Samsung Galaxy S9+ — in India. The device is currently up for open sale on the official Samsung Shop website and will go up for sale on e-commerce website Flipkart, starting tomorrow, June 21.

The latest variant will be available with 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage, priced at Rs 68,990. Samsung is also offering a special one-time screen replacement offer and Rs 9,000 cashback for customers buying the device using Paytm Mall or ICICI Bank credit cards. The company is also offering up to Rs 9,000 additional exchange value for buyers opting to exchange their old smartphones to buy the device.

To recall, the Galaxy S9+ Sunrise Gold edition was announced for India last week and went up for pre-orders on June 15. The Sunrise Gold version will join the Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple colour variants of the smartphone, which were already available for the Indian market.

The Samsung Galaxy S9+ was launched for India, along with the Samsung Galaxy S9, in March this year. Here's a look back at the key features of the device.

Samsung Galaxy S9+ specifications

The S9+ features a 6.2-inch QHD+ Curved Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and HDR support. The device is powered by Samsung's homebrew Exynos 9810 SoC in India (the US variant comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor) and 6GB of RAM. There are 64GB/128GB and 256GB storage options, expandable via a microSD card.

The device packs a dual-camera setup on the back with a 12MP wide-angle sensors with variable apertures (f/1.5 and f/2.4) and a 12MP telephoto lens with fixed f/2.4 aperture. The front selfie camera is marked at 8MP and has a f/1.7 aperture.

The variable apertures allow the camera to shift between numbers depending on different lighting conditions, giving it more flexibility. The telephoto lens on the S9+ gives a better control over bokeh and the ability to take zoomed in photos. All the sensors come with OIS and there's also a dual-LED flash.

One of the highlights of the S9+ camera is the super slow-mo camera which is capable of recording 960 frames per second. The feature helps capture extremely smooth slow motion videos. You can also export the footage in GIF format or use it as an animated wallpaper on the phone.

The device runs an Android 8.1 Oreo ROM and comes equipped with a 3,5000mAh battery with wireless and fast charging support.
