OnePlus has finally started selling the OnePlus 6 Midnight Black variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage in India. The model is now available for sale on Amazon priced at Rs 43,999 and will start shipping from July 11. The variant will also be up for grabs on the official OnePlus website and offline channels starting July 14.

This won't be the first time we will see a OnePlus 6 with 8GB/256GB configuration in India. The OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition was earlier launched in India for Rs 44,999. But the device was a special edition and was only available in limited numbers.

The premium 8GB/256GB Midnight Black variant was announced along with the other variants (6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB) but has only been made available for purchase now.

To recall, the OnePlus 6 was launched in India back in May in Midnight and came in two variants — 6GB/64GB in Mirror Black colour and 8GB/128GB in both Mirror Black and Midnight Black colour options. The Marvel Avengers Limited Edition was launched in March and an 8GB/128GB Silk White variant followed in June. The company also announced an 8GB/128GB Red Edition special version recently, which will go on sale from July 16.

Coming back to the latest 256GB Midnight Black variant, it will have the same specs we have seen in other versions, barring the RAM and inbuilt storage capacity.

OnePlus 6 specifications

The OnePlus 6 sports a 6.28-inch fullHD+ Full Optic AMOLED display with 1080x2280 resolution. The screen has a 19:9 aspect ratio and boasts 84 per cent screen-to-body ratio, courtesy of an Apple iPhone X-like top notch to house the front camera and sensors. Users have the option to hide the notch through the settings menu. The display is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and features the powerful Adreno 630 GPU. The OnePlus 6 is available in three RAM/Storage combinations, namely 6GB/64GB, 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB.

On the camera front, the device comes with a 16MP+20MP rear camera setup equipped with OIS, EIS, HDR, Portrait Mode and a dual-LED flash. The device is capable of Slow Motion video recording at 480 fps. The phone comes with a Smart Capture mode to automatically optimise camera settings according to conditions, as well as a native video editing app.

The 16MP front shooter has EIS and supports Portrait mode powered bu advanced AI algorithm to correctly judge the depth of field (DoF). OnePlus claims that the front camera can be used to unlock the phone in 0.4 seconds using Face Unlock feature. The fingerprint sensor returns and is situated just under the vertically placed dual cameras on the back. The device also packs a 3,300mAh battery capable of Dash Charge.

The dual-SIM (Nano) phone will ship with an OxygenOS 5.1 ROM based on Android 8.1 Oreo but an Android P Beta build has also been made available.
