Taking a dig at Reliance Jio’s Prime subscription plans, BSNL has announced a new unlimited data plan for its prepaid subscribers. The plan will offer 2GB data per day with unlimited calling to any BSNL numbers in India. Available at Rs 339, the plan will also offer 25 minutes worth free talktime to other smartphone number and will charge 25p per minute beyond it.
"The benefits customer will get under the Combo STV of Rs 339 are unlimited calls in BSNL network and unlimited data with fair use policy of 2 GB per day with validity of 28 days. The data of 2GB per day is one of the best in the industry. The free calls to other network will be for 25 minutes per day and after that the charges will be at 25 paisa per min," BSNL said through a statement.
The special promotional offer is available for all BSNL prepaid users. The package will be available starting March 16, 2017, for the period of 90 days on pan-India basis.
Reliance Jio has lately announced to terminate its free unlimited data and calls starting March 31. Post which all Jio subscribers are required to enroll themselves as a Prime member by paying Rs 99 for a year. Jio will offer 1GB per day data with unlimited free calls at Rs 303 per month.
To counter the Jio offer, all the existing telecom companies like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Reliance Communication (RCOM) has announced new data plans for its users.
Airtel has announced a Rs 345 plan offering 28GB of data with 1GB usage per day. However, users can use 500MB data starting 12AM to 6AM and 500MB of data during the day. Vodafone has also announced a similar plan with 28GB of 4G data for 28 days.
