Honor, a smartphone brand owned by Huawei, on Thursday, launched the Honor 9 Lite in India. The highlight of the mid-range offering is its quad camera setup- two in the back and two on the front.
The device will be available in two variants - a 3GB RAM/32 GB storage version priced at Rs 10,999 and a 4GB RAM/64 GB storage variant priced at Rs 14,999. The smartphone will be available in three colour options, Sapphire Blue and Glacier Gray with mirror-finish back and Midnight Black.
The device will be exclusively sold through e-commerce site Flipkart and will go on sale from January 21, coinciding with the Flipkart Republic Day Sale. Honor is offering 10 percent instant discount for buyers using Citibank credit and debit cards.
The Honor 9 Lite is pretty much a more affordable version of the Honor 9, with a few hardware alterations. The Honor 9 only has a dual-camera setup in the back but boasts a comparatively faster processor than the Lite variant.
The device packs a 5.65-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160) IPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC clocked at 2.36GHz. The device comes with multiple storage and RAM capacity as mentioned above. The phone's storage is expandable (up to 256GB) via a MicroSD card slot.
There are 13 MP + 2 MP dual-camera setups on both the front and the back. The rear camera offers PDAF autofocus and LED flash. There's support for dual-SIM (Nano) in a hybrid setup and the device runs EMUI 8.0 OS, based on Android 8.0 Oreo. There's a fingerprint sensor placed under the camera on the back.
The 3000mAh battery encased inside the 9 Lite supports Super Charge- Huawei's version of fast charging.
The device was launched in China last month. There's a 3GB RAM/64 GB storage variant which was launched in China but hasn't been announced for the Indian market.
