Pixel 3 XL renders as per latest rumours Image: Phone Designer/ Twitter
Google's Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL smartphones are expected to launch around October this year, but leaks and rumours about the upcoming flagships have already started pouring in. The latest live images of the Pixel 3 XL prototype suggest that the device may come with a dual camera setup on the front, housed inside a notch placed on the top of the display.
If it turns out to be true, it will be a huge bonus for selfie lovers, considering the Pixel series is renowned for providing the most fine-tuned camera experience, even among flagship smartphones. But fans who were hoping that Google would finally opt for a multi-camera setup on the back will be disappointed considering the images leaked by XDA Developers show only a single camera on the back.
The pictures also show that the Pixel 3 XL will retain a somewhat similar design to last year's Pixel 2 series, but with certain changes. The back of the phone seems to be made of glass this time around, hinting at the possibility of wireless charging support.
Another change seems to be the location of the SIM card tray, which seems to have been shifted to the bottom. It was placed on the left-hand side of the device in the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
Tipster OnLeaks had previously revealed that the Pixel 3 will feature a 5.3-inch screen, while the Pixel 3 XL will house a bigger 6.2-inch display. But the Pixel 3 might not come with a notch like the XL variant.
The Pixel 3 series smartphones are expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Soc and feature 4GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage.
