FIFA eClub World Cup to be held in Paris this week

16 teams from around the world will compete for $50,000 prize pool

The FIFA eClub World Cup will be held on May 19 and 20 at the famous Studio 130 in Paris. The tournament will pit 16 professional eSports football teams against each other for a chance to win $50,000 and play in the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs in order to qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup — the world's biggest football eSports event.

The tournament will feature eSports divisions of some popular professional football clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), FC Basel, Schalke among other professional eSports teams like Team Envy, BU E-Sports and others. Each team will have two players — one for Xbox One and one for PlayStation 4.

The top two teams or four players will get a chance to play in the EA SPORTS FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs consisting of 64 players. Those making to the top 16 in the playoffs will ensure a qualification for this year's FIFA eWorld Cup.

The FIFA eClub World Cup will be live streamed by FIFA.

Group A: Method, Hashtag Academy, Arte Virtual FC, FC Basel 1893, Unilad, BU E-Sports, Transfermarkt eSports, FC Schalke 04 eSports

Group B: Mkers, Team Envy, Falcons eSport, Brondby IF, Lightning Pandas, Xolos de Tijuana, VFL Bochum 1848, PSG eSports
