Raj Jadhav with his gaming rig at his house
Raj Jadhav, a 20-year-old 3rd-year engineering student from Terna Engineering College, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, is an avid gamer. But he didn't want to become just a streamer or a pro gamer, he dreamt of doing something else. And he did. He made gaming content for his YouTube channel, Jobless Freaks, with highlight reels of games and funny videos related to gaming. In a short span, Jadhav has earned quite a number of subscribers. T2 Online speaks to the YouTuber on his journey till now.
What does Jobless Freaks mean? And how did you come up with the idea of creating gaming content?
It was a name just randomly decided by me and my friends. At the start, we were inspired by the fact that YouTubers are pretty rich. I have been an avid gamer; so I decided to make videos on gaming.
What have been the highlights of Jobless Freaks so far?
We started the channel in September 2017, and we have already reached over 1,300 subscribers in this really short time.
When did you first start gaming?
My parents didn't want me to go outside and play; so they got me a computer when I was in the first standard. I have been playing computer games ever since.
What does it take to start a YouTube channel?
The subject should be unique. Only then will you stand out in the crowd.
Tell us about the roadblocks you faced in your YouTube career.
When I wanted to start a gaming-related channel, everyone asked me, "Are you streaming games?" But I wanted to show game highlights, talk with pro gamers so that new gamers could learn from them. I have game videos but I do not live stream. Rather, I create gaming-related content.
What do you do when not gaming?
Create memes, listen to music.
Initially, did your family support you?
Earlier they were a little apprehensive but now my mom supports me a lot.
What is the biggest challenge as a gaming content creator in India?
When you stream a game it is much easier because people will want to see your gameplay. But creating gaming content is a different ball game altogether because you have to make such videos in a short span of time that will grab the attention of viewers.
