BSNL just announced a plan worth Rs 118 that offers unlimited voice calls along with data incentives. The introduction of this pack can be seen as BSNL's attempt to take on Reliance Jio’s Rs 98 recharge pack that provides almost similar incentives.
The BSNL scheme will be valid for 28 days and users will be entitled to 1GB of 3G data every day. Wondering why only 3G? It's because the telecommunications company is yet to develop a 4G network.
The plan offers unlimited voice calling – both local and STD – and free national roaming. Calls to Delhi-NCR and Mumbai will be charged at standard rates. You also get a caller tune and 300 SMSes without spending a penny.
Jio's Rs 198 plan (valid for 28 days) offers data worth 2GB (per day) and 300 SMSes. Just like BSNL, it also offers unlimited calls and free roaming across India. And please note, your Internet speed will come down to 64 kbps after you exhaust your daily surfing quota.
Earlier, BSNL had announced a Rs 349 plan, which was valid for 54 days and offered 1GB of data on a daily basis. It allowed unlimited calls and 100 SMSes per day.
