When we think eSports, it's mostly CS:GO, FIFA, Dota 2 we think about. Apart from these popular titles we also have titles like Tekken, Gears of War, Street Fighter which have become very much a part of the pro gaming scene over the past few years.

However, if you think having a powerful PC or console is essential to be a part of the eSports world, think again. There are certain Android games which have carved out their own place in the competitive scenes. And the best part, they are all free to download, barring in-game purchases to give you an edge in the game.

Vainglory

The game developed and published by Super Evil Megacorp. The 3 vs 3 game is a simplified version of Multiplayer Online Battle Arena wherein two teams, composed of three players each, fight to destroy the enemy base. This December, a Vain Glory world championship was at Kallang Theatre in Singapore, where 12 teams around the world participated.

Hearthstone

Hearthstone, developed by Blizzard Entertainment, is a fast-paced strategy card game that, in average, lasts for 5 minutes. You can learn the game easily and its fun. The game was released first for Microsoft  Windows and MacOS later it was released for mobile. The game offers cross-platform play which enables PC players to play against mobile gamers as well. The world championship for Hearthstone took place at Amsterdam last month with a prize money of $1,000,000. 16 top players from around the globe participated in the tournament.

Clash Royale

Clash Royale, developed by Supercell from Finland, played a huge part in the company earning $2.1 billion in the last year alone from its mobile games. The game is simple tower defence game globally released on March 2, 2016. The game is becoming hugely popular as an eSports title and has featured as one of the major titles in tournaments like ESL and ESWC Paris.

Clash of Clans

The game is the second big game from developers Supercell, who are also responsible for Clash Royale. The game is one the most popular games on google play. It is a strategy game where players can join to create clans of up to 50 people, who can then build troops, discuss strategies and take part in wars against rival clans. The Clan Wars tournament in the recently concluded ESWC (Electronic sports world cup) IN Paris saw many teams across the globe participating and the winning team walked away with 10,000 Euros as prize money.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

The game is based on hugely popular League of Legends PC game by Riot games. In fact, the similarities were so apparent that Riot Games even filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the publishers Montoon. But Montoon made some changes and stuck with their game which got over 10 million downloads within months of its launch. The game is hugely popular in Asia, particularly South East Asia. Some big Mobile Legends tournaments took place last year in Hong Kong and Malaysia.
