Phew, the darkness of Aadhaar linking is not looming large on the horizon right now Image: Twitter
Are Vodafone, Citibank, Ola, Paytm or all of them (and then some more) spamming you with messages for Aadhaar linking? Are you getting sleepless nights wondering how to go about it? Well, no worries. You needn't rack your brains over the daunting Know Your Customer (KYC) process anymore, rather not right now. Courtesy: Saviour of the masses, the Supreme Court of India.
Giving countless Indians (most definitely us) some much-needed relief, the apex court has extended the Aadhaar linking deadline indefinitely. Phew. But this isn't the first time the deadline has been extended. The constantly changing dates (that would put a chameleon under performance pressure) have placed us hapless citizens in some kind of a fix. After the SC verdict, while some are busy celebrating their freedom from the KYC rigmarole, the rest are in a to-link or not-to-link Aadhaar mode.
Here's how tweeple responded to the development:
To do or not to do #AadharLinking damn with ever extending deadline .. thanks to Supreme Court ... it’s like sword 🗡 hanging 🙈🙈🙈— Haanssa (@haanssa) March 14, 2018
#Aadhar postponed again. Good thing haven’t linked it yet. In a way #AadharCard is good. But surprisingly to get a #passport is tougher than getting this. Is #AadharLinking done with voter id. If not then why ?— Karan Sharma (@thekaran_sharma) March 14, 2018
So #Aadhar soon going #niradhar am so glad I have not addded to mobile no or bank account I just didnt budge to their random blackmailing #AadhaarAlerts #AadharLinking #AadharCard Dear @ICICIBank_Care @Airtel_Presence can you please stop spaming those Alerts.!! https://t.co/ERHYGuhUvp— Baba PK (@GaribCeo) March 13, 2018
And how could Mrs Funnybones aka Twinkle Khanna not react to the Aadhaar hoopla!
