The new lavender 100-rupee note to be released by RBI Image: TWITTER
Adulting can be really tough peeps, and if you've missed playing the game of Monopoly in a long time, maybe the good folks at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) can help you out. RBI is soon introducing a new lavender-coloured 100-rupee bill in the existing colourful currency spectrum, and Tweeple can't keep calm.
As soon as the first pictures of the lavender currency were released, Netizens donned their creative hats to come up with some crazy ideas and jokes around the new shade. The new Rs 100 lavender note joins the existing colourful tenders in pink (Rs 2000), blue (Rs 50), brown (Rs 10), and yellow (Rs 200); and it is expected to be in circulation from next month.
The new note has the signature Mahatma Gandhi impression on one side, and an impressive motif of Gujarat's historic stepwell 'Rani ki Vav' on the other. The base colour, lavender, has triggered many 'cute' jokes, and we have picked seven of them to kickstart your weekend on a colourful note.
