Getting bullied or bullying someone in school is not a new thing. Though a majority of times, our parents turn a blind eye to bullying, it is definitely not acceptable. Remember those dreary days when we got bullied in school and had nobody to confide in? Yup, that's how lonely you feel when you're being bullied. But what if you are a bully yourself?
While most parents may overlook such warning signs, calling them petty, Canada-based Amanda Mitchell decided to take a strong stand.
Hannah, Amanda's little one, picked on her best friend and made her cry. But it didn't stop there. She also lied to her teachers about her class teacher. Adding to the mayhem, she missed classes for weeks. Hannah's unruly behaviour vexed her mum. So much so, that Amanda turned Hannah's room into a makeshift juvenile detention centre, and held Hannah a prisoner in her own room. She was even asked to wear the same pair of clothes for a week just like the inmates.
Amanda took to social media to share her feeling about Hannah's behaviour.
According to the post, Hannah was also asked to fulfill some tasks to win fresh clothes. She was asked to write 'I will not lie', 'I will be kind to everyone', 'I will behave at school' 50 times a day for a week.
Amanda's decision to punish her daughter has been criticised by Netizens, who feel that shaming a kid on social media is not really the right way to punish a kid.
So, what do you think? Is this the right way to punish a bully? Or is it a form of social media bullying in itself?
