The future of fusion food is here and it has already got the Nigella Lawson stamp of approval. Naan pizza is the biggest food trend right now and we don't even need to sell it. If you love naan and if you love pizza (which we know you do), there is no way you will not like, nay love, naan pizza.

A naan pizza is basically a pizza with a naan base. But the difference lies in the cooking, as you can prepare it in an oven, or you can tandoor it. Consider it a mini crunchy pizza with a naan base. Yes, it is as incredible as it sounds. Lawson calls it a 'fantastic instant snack-cum-supper' and we back her claims.

This naan pizza is giving us inspiration for Friday pizza night 😍 #Repost @urbankitchenapothecary ・・・ After months of drooling over all the yummy-looking naan pizzas you guys are always posting I finally got around to making one myself. Yup, as expected I'm officially hooked. The naan really bakes up into such a nice crispy crust 😍 and it's perfect for me because I'm too usually too lazy / impatient to deal with dough 🙌🏽☺️ For this green-on-green version I used @wholefoods pre-baked naan and piled on homemade basil-pumpkin seed pesto, chili-garlic sautéed kale, chickpeas, chèvre, and goat's feta (baked at 425F for about 10 mins till the crust was lightly browned and cheese was melted), plus a scattering of @goodwaterfarms arugula microgreens and fennel seed gomasio to finish. I think Monday night's going to be pizza night from now on 🍕🍕🍕 . . . #pizza #naanpizza #meatlessmonday #pesto #healthyfoodshare #healthyfood #simplefood #bareaders #foodandwine #thenewhealthy #feedfeed #goodwaterfarms #f52grams #beautifulcuisines #buzzfeast #huffposttaste #eattheworld #foodgawker #marthafood

A naan pizza makes for great canapes, and even some great picnic food. And you can literally use whatever you want. From dried tomattoes to mozarella to baked chicken, naan pizza is the easiest food find of the season.

Naan pizzas are the ideal snack for portion control. You can manage to gorge without over-loading on carbs. So, we can't find any flaws with this Insta-famous new snack. Maybe you can try.

Meanwhile, here's how to make a naan pizza:
