The smartest man in Westeros has a desi doppelganger, and we need space to talk about it. Tariq Mir, from Kashmir is a total Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) lookalike, and he has got all the viral attention.

According to reports, the 30-year-old Tariq hails from Kashmir’s Anantnag and was actually spotted by Imtiaz Ali’s line producer Khawar Jamsheed, who was looking for a clown for a children’s event where Tariq was auditioning.

He saw how similar Tariq looked to Tyrion aka Peter, the youngest Lannister heir, who is currently serving as the Hand of the Queen to Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones

Tariq, however, had no idea who Tyrion was. It was only after Tariq met Khawar that he came to know of his famous doppelganger. Imtiaz met Tariq at the Pehelgam Festival, and shared a picture on Instagram.

"Now, I have become famous. It has given me and other actors in the Valley hope that we can accomplish big things. I recently played Tyrion in a short film and now it is my dream to meet him, I imitate his walk, his style... even his clothes. I feel proud every time I see him on Game Of Thrones. Tyrion Lannister is an inspiration for every dwarf," Tariq told Mumbai Mirror.

It was Khawar who suggested to Tariq that he should audition for Tyrion Lannister lookalike contests. "My first reaction after seeing Tyrion Lannister was to thank God for making me look like him. I also thank Khawar, who trusted in me and has invested in me. Whatever I am today, it is because of him,” he says about the character essayed by the 48-year-old Peter Dinklage.

"I first met Tariq when he was auditioning for a clown’s role at a children’s event and instantly realised that this guy looks exactly like Peter Dinklage. He struck me as a happy, innocent man… all he knows is how to make people laugh. I suggested that we take him on for the event as a Dinklage look-alike instead of a clown. People went crazy when they saw him,” Khawar was quoted in the report.
