Post-childbirth, both men and women are expected to perform certain gender roles. For instance, a mother is expected to breastfeed, nurse and nurture the newborn, while the father is supposed to earn bread for the family and also assist the mother in caring for the baby. But have you ever heard of a father breastfeeding his child? Never. But looks like Maxamillian Kendall Neubauer is here to break these stereotypes. He breastfed his baby girl as his wife April was going through some complications due to her emergency C-section.
According to a WBAY report, April had to go through an emergency C-section as she had PCOD issues (a hormonal problem that affects the menstrual cycle). Even during the time of delivery, she had multiple seizures. Though the delivery happened successfully, April had to be taken to the ICU. Owing to April's ailing condition, she failed to breastfeed the baby. It was then that the doctor, who supervised April's delivery, asked Max to step in. With the help of a fake nipple shield and a syringe, Max fed his daughter.
Max is the first one to break the gender-stereotype and opt to feed his baby.
The new daddy shared this heart-warming experience on Facebook.
"Due to complications during Aprils emergency c-section. This super rad nurse made an epically killer offer, and I was fortunate enough to slap on a suction cup fake nipple. Being the first to breastfeed da baby!!!! “I did it for the moms” Eat your heart out!! ☺️💕😘🤗" he wrote.
Max certainly set an example for all would-be fathers across the board. We hope his act helps bring in change and shatters the set gender-roles of parenting.
