Did you ever find money in your jeans pocket? That 100-rupee note you chance upon is the sweetest thing ever. Of course, it's your cash and you obviously left it there and forgot about it, but who cares. It feels like a treasure, doesn't it?

Well, this next piece of information is going to make you feel crappy about yourself. Cuz you may find 100 bucks, but this couple from Staten Island, New York, found $52,000 just buried in their backyard.

Still love that jeans pocket treasure?

Matthew and Maria Colonna-Emanuel spotted a rusty box tucked away behind some trees in their backyard. The obvious conclusion was that it's an old electrical box. Nope, it wasn't. It turned out to be a safe filled with $52,000 in cash, gold, and diamonds.

Twitter had but one question. The same that we have, actually. 'Why can't this be us?'

But here's where our fairytale daydream ends. For Matthew and Maria, however, not so much. Apart from all the valuables in the box, the couple also found a note with an address — one of their neighbors. Yup, you know where this is going.

"First, I knocked on the door and I asked them if they were ever robbed and they said they were," Matthew told CNN. Turns out a burglary was reported at their neighbors' the day after Christmas in 2011. They were robbed of a safe, which contained the exact same things found in the box at Matthew and Maria's.

Nope, they didn't keep it. "It wasn't even a question. It wasn't ours," Maria told CNN. And Matthew was just happy with the good Karma he earned. Sweet.

Why would the thief just leave it there, with the address and then not come back to claim it? Twitter had the same question...

Psst...are you also thinking what we're thinking? Like there's some bigger reason behind this coincidence?
