Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are fierce competitors on the field, but it’s now time for them to watch each other’s back.
Less than a month away from the FIFA World Cup, which starts on June 14, ISIS has issued a threat to the dynamic duo. It is one of the many attempts to dampen the tournament's build-up.
In a horrifying poster reportedly made by the terror group, both Ronaldo and Messi are seen lying on the football pitch with their heads chopped off.

The threat was brought to fore by cyber intelligence firm Sixgill, which has been monitoring online activities of the group for quite some time. According to the agency, the poster was released by a pro-ISIS agency on popular chatting application Telegram.
When translated into English, the poster reads, “Your blood will fill the ground."
In the run-up to the tournament, Russian authorities have already cracked the whip by arresting over 20 ISIS members in April.
Messi will wear the Argentina jersey and take the field for the first time against Iceland on June 16. And Ronaldo, who captains the Portuguese squad, will look to go all guns blazing on June 15 against Spain.
