Former WWE champion and current COO Triple H aka Paul Michael Levesque congratulated Indian Premier League (IPL) side Mumbai Indians on winning the title on Sunday night and promised a special gift from the wrestling giants.

MI clinched the title after seeing off a stiff challenge from Rising Pune Supergiant after beating them by just one run. The win handed the Mumbai franchisee a record third IPL title, overtaking Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, who have two.

Seems like the feat caught the eye of 14-time WWE champion and pro wrestling icon Triple H, who took to Twitter to congratulate Rohit Sharma and the boys. "Congratulations, @mipaltan. @WWE has something headed your way! @WWEIndia," he tweeted.

While we don't yet know what the 'something' is, in all probability, it will be a replica of the WWE title belt with side plates customised — pretty much like the one Chelsea received after their EPL win.

It's hard to tell if Triple H follows cricket or not, but we can certainly hope he does.

However, it's more likely a move from WWE to pave the way for its growth in the Indian market. The entertainment behemoths have been positioning themselves aggressively in the Indian market with multiple special tours in the past few years and Indian-origin wrestler Jinder Mahal winning the WWE title recently after defeating Randy Orton at Backlash.
