Watch: Wedding party comes to a halt during Russia's nail-biting World Cup game against Spain

The party resumed after the Russians ensured a Spanish ouster

Everything came to a standstill when Russia were busy encountering Spain at the FIFA World Cup’s round of 16 last night. So much so that even a wedding reception party somewhere in Russia came to a halt as the Russians were busy orchestrating a Spanish ouster.

According to reports, the bride and the groom decided to stop the wedding and watch the match till the end.

The party resumed only after Russia captain and goalkeeper, Igor Akinfeev, ensured his team’s passage into the quarterfinals.

Russia now face Croatia, who also beat Denmark on penalties last night.

Today, Brazil face Mexico in a round-of-16 clash, which most people are expecting to be another upset. In another game later tonight, Belgium face Japan.
