We’ve seen some exceptional goalkeeping this FIFA World Cup.
Mexico’s Guillermo Ochoa, Russia’s Igor Akinfeev and Spain’s David de Gea have gone the distance to rescue their teams on many occasions.
Now, during last night’s round-of-16 match between England and Colombia, English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford really kept the camerapersons on their toes.
One of Pickford’s epic saves, where he is seen diving (read flying) towards the left, is doing the rounds on Twitter. It was a powerful strike from Colombian midfielder Mateus Uribe in the dying minutes of the game. Had it hit the back of the net, the scoreline would have possibly been totally different.
Check out this slo-mo clip where Pickford is giving Superman a run for his money. Time to pinch yourselves.
