Rohit Sharma smashed 62 off just 44 balls to guide Mumbai Indians to a comfortable six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium. (Read: Steyn's first IPL wicket)
Batting first, Bangalore managed 170/7 in 20 overs. Travis Head (37) was the top scorer for the side. In reply, riding on Rohit's innings and Kieron Pollard's unbeaten 19-ball 40, the defending champions chased down the total in 18 overs to bag their second win of the season. Earlier put into bat, Bangalore got off to a flying start. But in the 11th over left arm spinner Krunal Pandya dismissed in-form Virat Kohli (33) and AB de Villiers (29) to bring Mumbai back into the game. Shane Watson (5) too didn't last long.
Sarfaraz Khan (28) and Head held on to guide the team to a respectable total. Jasprit Bumrah (3-31) and Krunal Pandya (2-27) were the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai.
