Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who portrayed Mahendra Singh Dhoni's character in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, took to Twitter to slam Dhoni's critics for doubting the former India captain. Sushant's outburst on Twitter might have been subtly directed towards another former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, who recently expressed his doubts over Mahi's ability as a T20 player.

Sushant's tweets were a follow-up to MS Dhoni's match-winning knock for Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) against reigning IPL champions Sun Risers Hyderabad on Saturday. Dhoni scored a fiery unbeaten 61 off just 34 balls to clinch a thriller, which went right down to the last delivery of the match.

Prior to the match, the Ranchi batsman was under immense pressure because of his form in the IPL. Mahi, in particular, will have a point to prove in this edition of the tournament after being replaced as the Pune captain months before its start.

Sourav Ganguly recently added to Dhoni's woes during an interview, where he said, “I am not too sure if Dhoni is a good T20 player. He is a champion ODI player but when it comes to T20 cricket, in 10 years, he has got one fifty and that’s not the best record.”

Sushant, who has built up quite a bonhomie with Captain Cool during the course of his prep for the movie, took to Twitter to express his joy after Dhoni's innings on Saturday. “The fact that Dhoni is so harshly scrutinised shows his class &the standard he has set. It’s a matter of time &not hope his bat will answer,” he tweeted.

Sushant then upped the ante with another tweet which read,  "Dhoni is not a ....  what did you say ?? Wonder where are the Experts now. Proud of you mahi!!”

While the Bollywood actor didn't name Dada directly in his tweets, all the evidence points definitely towards it.
