It's extremely rare to see MS Dhoni overwhelmed by emotions but even the undisputed Captain Cool couldn't keep his sentiments at bay while talking about his return to Chennai Super Kings for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. However, thankfully for Mahi, his former CSK partner-in-crime Suresh Raina was at hand to step in just in the nick of time.

CSK's ban due to spot-fixing scandal, following the 2015 IPL season, saw Dhoni move to Rising Pune Supergiant for two years, but with the ban being lifted this season, Mahi is back with CSK and will be looking to pick up from where he left off. Dhoni captained the Chennai outfit from 2008-15 saw him reach as many as six finals and win the IPL trophy twice.

Like Dhoni, Raina will be another returning prodigal son in the CSK camp after spending two years at Gujarat Lions. Raina was the backbone of Mahi's CSK from 2008-15 and is the most successful IPL batsman till date and had bailed out the team and his captain on numerous occasions in the past. And on Thursday night, he had his captain's back yet again.

Mahi was speaking about CSK's two-year hiatus and his return to the team at an event in Chennai and somewhere along the way, seemed to have been overwhelmed by his emotions. As the former India captain's voice started breaking up and eyes became moist, Raina quickly stepped in from the audience to hand his captain a bottle of water and a friendly pat.

Take a look:

We might still have a week to go before the IPL starts, but CSK's Mahi-Raina combination seems ready to pick up right from where they left off in 2015.
