With two goals in the first half, Arsenal took home the bragging rights after beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the Premier League.

It was probably the best performance of the season by the Gunners to beat their arch-rivals in the North London derby.

German defender Shkodran Mustafi opened the scoring for Arsenal 36 minutes into the match with a brilliant header.

Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez scored the second goal just five minutes later to secure the home win for Arsenal.

Mesut Ozil was adjudged Man of the Match on a day any Arsenal player could have won the award.

After this victory, Arsenal provisionally holds the fifth position in the table with 22 points, behind defending champions Chelsea on goal difference.

Despite the away defeat, Tottenham remains in the third place with 23 points, behind second-placed Manchester United who won 4-1 at home to Newcastle United.
