Shane Warne just threw some life into the never-ending Virat Kohli-Sachin Tendulkar debate.
The Australian veteran, who has now moved back to Australia after a stint as head coach of Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2018, says that Kohli has achieved something that even Tendulkar couldn’t.
“I think the way Virat plays and you look at his numbers and it's uncanny how many times he has got hundreds in ODI cricket chasing totals down. I don't think anyone, not even Sachin could do what Virat's done,” he said in an interview with India Today.

Recalling his playing days, Warne said that Tendulkar and Brian Lara were the best batsmen in his era. And thereafter, he said that Kohli and AB de Villiers are right on top in the current crop of batsmen.
“We know Sachin and Brian Lara were the two best players of all time in our generation. But Virat and AB de Villiers; it's very difficult to separate those guys. Virat is as good as anyone that I have seen play the game. Wonderful, terrific player, I love his energy and passion. I am sure when he finishes in ten years or so he will be spoken about in the same breath as Sachin," he added.
Warne has played a major role in shaping the Rajasthan Royals cricket team, who are currently fighting for a place in the playoffs. They face Kolkata Knight Riders in a crucial fixture today.
