MS Dhoni may have given up his captaincy long back but the BCCI, rather the BCCI app, simply refuses to acknowledge the harsh truth. Confused? Well, the official BCCI app recently made a goof-up and listed the former India captain as the skipper for the national side for all formats.
The listing was obviously a mistake from the backend team behind the BCCI app but it certainly didn't stop Tweeple from having some fun with it.
Eagle-eyed fans on Twitter spotted the oversight and posted some hilarious comments on the micro-blogging site along with proof.
To recall, Mahi stepped down as India's Test captain way back in 2014, and then gave up the captain's mantle in ODIs and T20Is back in January 2017. Dhoni firmly established himself as the most successful Indian captain of all time during his decade-long tenure at the helm of Team India.
Under his captainship, India won the ICC World Cup 2011, the inaugural ICC WT20 in South Africa and the ICC Champions Trophy 2013. Besides leading India to victories in the holy trinity of ICC trophies, India also became the No. 1 Test team in the world under Mahi's stewardship in 2009.
No wonder everyone, including the BCCI app, is missing Captain Cool.
