MS Dhoni recently became the fourth Indian batsman to score 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. Looks like the former Indian captain has got into the habit of doing exceedingly well with numbers, even if it is off the field.
Captain Cool, who is in the list A category of players under the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has now become the highest taxpayer in Jharkhand in the 2017-18 fiscal year, paying as much as Rs 12.17 crore.
According to an English daily, Dhoni has been the highest individual taxpayer in Bihar as well.
"MS Dhoni has been the highest individual tax-payer in Jharkhand and Bihar for 2017-18 FY," said Nisha Oraon Singhmaar, joint commissioner, Income Tax department, Jharkhand and Bihar.
According to reports, the 37-year-old cricketer had paid Rs 10.93 crore as income tax in the financial year 2016-17.
Dhoni recently returned to India after wrapping up the T20I and ODI series against England. After winning the T20I series 2-1 against the Three Lions, Virat Kohli and team lost the ODI series 1-2.
Now, Team India square off against England in a five-match Test series, which starts August 1 in Birmingham.
