As Virat Kohli dropped out of the third T20I because of a sore back, Team India looked pretty insipid while taking the field. But then there was Suresh Raina, hungry to prove his worth at the international level.
After Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Junior Dala, Raina walked out, gauged the field and whacked the first delivery for a six over the leg side boundary. And everything seemed to be under control.
A quickfire 43 by Raina, a controlled 47 by Shikhar Dhawan and quick cameos by MS Dhoni, Manish Pandey and Hardik Pandya saw India pose a 173-run target. In the second innings, the bowlers, ably lead by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, did their job well and handed India a seven-run victory over the Proteas.
And tweeple couldn't thank the Indian team enough for leaving South Africa with their head held high.
India in blue were excellent and the series wins will be considered landmarks. Still believe it was the best opportunity to beat South Africa away. But overall, the tour was a success for Indian cricket.— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) February 24, 2018

I know India won the one days series handsomely & then clinched the T20 series too, but the highlight for me was the last Test win at the Wanderers. 👏👏👏🙏#SAvIND— Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) February 24, 2018
