Fitness comes first for Kohli, but his love for food is far from forgotten
Cricketer Virat Kohli is known for following a strict diet regimen but guess what, he has his cheat days, too. Though it's hard to believe, as we all know he has been on a carb-free diet for more than half a decade, the Indian skipper has himself revealed he likes to have desserts sometimes. Aah, the foodie Delhi boy.
The cricketer, who recently returned to Mumbai after a successful tour of South Africa, said at a recent event, "On a cheat day and on a day I want to indulge, I would probably have a gluten-free dessert, which is made of natural sugar."
His childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma had once revealed that Virat was hooked to typical Punjabi fare such as butter chicken and choley bhature. But the Indian skipper says his preferences have changed down the years.
"My favourite cuisine now is Japanese. In fact, I would say since the past three years I can eat Japanese food anytime during the day. I totally love the cuisine, and I have developed a taste for it," he said.
Interestingly, his wife Anushka Sharma is also a fan of Japanese cuisine. A shared love for food is surely the food of love, right?
