The Mexicans are all over the news right now.

They recently caused an earthquake in Mexico City while zealously celebrating their country’s 1-0 victory against Germany in a Group F clash. Now, a bunch of them have done something so eccentric that they’ll be remembered for time to come.

They carried a cardboard photo of their friend, Javier, to Russia after his wife didn’t allow him to travel to the much-anticipated tournament. The group is being spotted almost everywhere in Russia.

They not only shared photos on social media but also made the effort of covering him with a blanket when needed, clicking selfies and introducing him to new people whenever possible. The photographs are now breaking the Internet.

Mexico next face South Korea on June 23 and Sweden on June 27. The way they’re playing in the tournament, a Round of 16 berth looks more or less fixed.
