Social media erupted with joy the moment England were nudged out of the World Cup after a 2-1 defeat against Croatia

England fans will now have to wait another four years to start shouting “it’s coming home”. Their overconfidence is now coming home to haunt them as Croatia will now meet France in the summit showdown of the World Cup on July 15.

This will be Croatia’s first ever WC final appearance and France will be vying for their second title, since beating Brazil in the epic 1998 edition final.

Harry Kane and Co. will now play Belgium in a face-off for the third place on July 14. Their ouster has now made them the butt of all jokes on social media.
