Dwayne Bravo's a champion: MS Dhoni Image: BCCI
It was one of those game. Both teams played outstanding cricket but unfortunately India were on the losing side.
Chasing 246 runs to win, KL Rahul played a blinder, so did Rohit Sharma. Even captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni smacked 'em out of the park but it wasn't enough as India fell short by just a single run.
Superb run chase comes to nought, alas. Windies will be relieved, India distraught. Makes it tougher for Dhoni & Co tmrw. Great match tho!— Cricketwallah (@cricketwallah) August 27, 2016
But with two runs to get off the last ball and Dhoni on strike, every Indian fan thought that the match was in the bag. The Indian skipper normally revels in such situations but last evening, it was his ex-Chennai Super King mate, Dwayne Bravo, who had the last laugh err...dance.
"When it comes to Bravo, I feel in the current scenario he's among the best when it comes to the death bowling," Dhoni said after the game.
It was finisher v finisher in the last over, and Bravo won the battle conclusively. One more match Dhoni couldn't finish— Sambit Bal (@sambitbal) August 27, 2016
Bravo dismissed Dhoni in the last ball of the game and according to the Indian captain, the 'Champion' singer executed his skills better than him.
Choose your headline: KL Rahul has risen; MS Dhoni is back; or, may be: Everybody knows DJ Bravo is a champion #IndvsWI— Shekhar Gupta (@ShekharGupta) August 27, 2016
"The amount of experience that he has really counts so you always know if he's bowling it's tough. What then becomes important is how we're executing. You have to really guess what he's looking to bowl and according to that you play your shots. So if you guess the bowler well and execute well, you'll end up winning.”
Interestingly, it was under Dhoni's captaincy at CSK that Bravo made a name for himself as a death overs specialist. In Florida, he pulled one over the best finisher in the game.
