Challenging Lionel Messi with a hard tackle is tantamount to putting your neck on the line. And, Sevilla defender Gabriel Mercado knows that very well.

Before Sevilla and Barcelona face each other in the Copa del Rey final this Sunday, Mercado said that he cannot go back to Argentina if he ends up hurting Messi on the field.

"If I hit him I cannot go back to Argentina. Messi cannot be stopped or fouled, you give him a hit and he still wants to play football. That's it, he always wants to score and hurt the opponent's goal," he said in an interview with 90min.com.

Praising Messi's ability to score goals from just about anywhere on the field, Mercado said, "He is the best without discussion. He appears anywhere in the field, scores goals and assists."

Messi and Mercado are slated to represent Argentina in the upcoming Football World Cup in Russia. But before that, they have some business to settle on the field this Sunday.
