The history of cricket is riddled with bizarre incidents leading to players missing out on matches. From West Indies batsman Jimmy Adams missing an entire series after accidentally cutting his hand with a butterknife to Andrew Symonds being left out of the team for missing a team-meeting due to fishing commitments, the incidents transcend 'weird' comfortably. Australian batsman Aaron Finch on Sunday became the latest entrant in the list after missing the IPL match between Gujarat Lions and Mumbai Indians.
The Gujarat Lions player reportedly had to sit out of the match after misplacing his kit bag, which reportedly never arrived from Rajkot and Finch eventually had to be replaced by England opener Jason Roy.
The Australian opener himself took to Twitter to confirm the news.
Just to clear things up, I didn't play the game today because my kit bag never arrived in Mumbai from our last match.— Aaron Finch (@AaronFinch5) April 16, 2017
No kit bag = No bats, no playing equipment at all, no shoes, playing clothes etc!!— Aaron Finch (@AaronFinch5) April 16, 2017
To make things worse, Mumbai Indians also notched up a comfortable six-wicket win over Suresh Raina-led Gujarat.
The uncompromising Twitteratti soon took fancy to Finch's misfortune and an investigation ensued to find the party responsible. Besides the ususal suspect Jason Roy, even Arvind Kejriwal was held as a suspect.

And of course some run-of-the-mill trolling was on offer too.
